Abstract

|
Although laparoscopic adrenalectomy has rapidly replaced conventional open adrenalectomy as the procedure of choice for adrenal tumors, still recommended open resection for lesions larger than 8cm. But in giant adrenal tumor that make invasion to ipsilateral kidney, conventional open resection gives poor anatomic exposure of the renal pedicle during surgery. The purpose of this paper is to present a single experience in excising left-sided giant adrenal carcinomas, discussing the safety and effectiveness of open adrenalectomy combined with retroperitoneal laparoscopic approach.
